Giving Thanks

Pass the turkey, pass the gravy;
Say hello to Uncle Davey.
On this day we are thankful for
Our family, friends, and food galore.
In the lane are color-changing leaves:
Red, brown, and orange together do weave.
These transitions define the season,
For it’s Autumn, it needs no reason.
A break from school, a whole week free
Allows more sleep for you and me.
And though we may grow tired and bored,
We always know to thank the Lord.
