The Rogue
How do I describe the way it feels?
So perfectly refreshing, almost unreal.
You take your shirt off and feel the sting of the sun
Then find heaven, where the cold river runs.
There is nothing like the chilly waters rush,
So crisp, so cool, so fresh, so lush.
I float on my back, look up at the sky,
At peace with the world, I shut my eyes.
Awoken from daydreams downstream just a ways,
My breath is taken, by the beauty of the day.
On a warm sandy beach, I now sit ashore.
Not money, not a woman, the river, I adore.
