Unwanted
In a dark little room in a tiny cage, lay a puppy tired of the wait
Another attempt was to be made, to find her a home for her to live her days
She greeted the people with a slightly wagging tail
Still waiting for someone to take her away
Not satisfied they wanted another
Not that little black lab without a mother
For many days was kept to wait, till the final day her bones begin to ache
She heard some men calling her name, saying “let's put her in a chamber and end her pain”
She sat still as she spoke her last
“I’ve been in this world way to long, with no place to call home, nobody to show love.
If I have a last wish to be made, I wish this life hadn't been lived in vain. Having said all I got, I shall leave this world with a mended heart”.
She took her final glimpse around, then her head fell to ground and there was no more sound.
