In the Dark

Coming home now in the dark,

Presuming that I'm all alone.

The trees rattling throughout the park,

If only I'd thought to charge my phone.

Every little sudden noise

Reminds me of the weird old creep,

That used to hurt little boys

Right before he went to sleep.

But when I look up at the moon,

All i see is his smiling face.

He tells me that I'll be home soon,

and helps put me in my happy place.

As I walk now through the night,

I turn too soon and pass my street.

I start to worry and scream in fright,

And kick what grabs me by my feet.

Then suddenly i Realize,

i woke up and opened my eyes.

i love peices like this that have a twist at the end. i tend to write these kind of poems and short stories because i like seeing peoples reactions to the twist.
