The Destruction of Me
The water is calm,
like a town before a bomb.
But the bomb won't go off,
it is still.
It hides away from the world,
under the rubble that was caused
by the destruction of love
that was once there,
but has now fallen to the ground.
Weeds grow around this new town
making it appear that it has always been around,
but it hasn't.
Overtime
the climb to this town became steep
so no one could get around this new town.
But I am the town,
this town that was destroyed by love.
Sitting still like the water.
My heart was slaughtered.
But like the bomb,
it sits there in the town
waiting for someone to come find it.
But the silence was too much for the bomb to bear,
and the care of the bomb despaired so it burst.
The town was destroyed again,
but this time not by love,
by despair.
