It’s all my fault (it’s all your fault)
People ask me why I am always quick to blame myself when something goes wrong,
and I remember how all of your apologies were
followed by claims that you only did it
because I “egged you on”.
I think it is so very funny that at that age you had me believing
that the actions of a grown woman were decided
by a being barely past the stage of a fetus.
Now as the knife returns to my back I realize how
poorly I was treated.
All but a small child,
and yet everything you needed
to justify the actions
that despite promises you made,
you once again repeated.
Now, I’ll continue taking the blame as the villain,
as you continue to inflict the same life you gave me
on other clueless children.
