Cold
Cold
You took me away from my warm, comforting land.
My home, my family, my friends.
I did not want to leave.
But you made me.
I’m forever lost now.
Wherever I am.
No food, no water, no shelter.
I feel as if I was locked inside a freezer.
How could you do this to me?
How did your heart get so cold?
You could’ve stopped this.
But you didn’t.

This poem is completely inspired by the book Ashes in the Snow. I am currently reading the book for Unit 2 of my English class.
