Oh how I love volleyball.

My feet on the plastic tiled ground, Of the tournament warehouse.

Hundreds of girls playing their hearts out,Volleyballs flying through the air like dolphins

Tall.  Blonde.  Girls. Like barbie dolls.

Girls I only dream of becoming.

Sweat mixed with hundreds of perfumes, Dry mouth of excitement and nervousness.

Oh how I love volleyball.

Whistles blowing, Shoes squeaking against the floor tiles, Coaches yelling,

Drowning out all the noise, only to feel.

To feel the breeze against my legs.

To feel the butterflies in my stomach.

To feel the pressure of all the parents eyes.

Only to love it all.

As I put on my court shoes and my knee pads,

The thought of making my mother proud, for all she has done for me,

Drives me to play like nobody's watching, She cheers me on from the sidelines,

Looking at how far I've come.

Oh how I love volleyball.

It teaches me to enjoy the things that test me,

Push me,

Make me stronger.

Oh how I love volleyball.

It makes me feel electric,

It will never judge me,

It will never make me feel less than,

Oh how I adore playing my sport.
