An Ode to Softball
I'm joyful at practice, games and tournaments
The cling of a bat and the clap of a mitt.
The smell of snacks, sodas, and soft pretzels galore
We still want to play, even when we’re sore.
I see a team, all sweaty and tired
But while playing they still smiled
While being happy and hyper, with my adrenaline high.
Thank you softball for taking things off of my mind
Thank you softball for making me happy
Thank you softball even when you injure me
Thank you softball even when you're not fair
And thank you to my teammates for being my best friends who will always be there.
