Skyla
When I look at you, I look at you with admiration.
You are the one I model myself after.
You’re my sun and moon,
I hate that you were taken too soon.
When I look back on our memories,
My heart fills with sadness.
You were my best friend,
I miss you so much it’s madness.
You were the one who made me better.
You were the one who made middle school just a little less awful.
I hate going through high school without you.
You always made everyone around you joyful.
Maybe we’ll meet in another life,
In another time, another world.
Missing you feels like being stabbed with a knife.
I just miss you every night.
You are the one I model myself after,
Your optimistic attitude and contagious laugh.
It’s not fair that you’re gone,
My heart is forever broken in half.

This poem is about my best friend from 7th grade. She was only 12 when she passed. I love you sweet girl.
