Snowfall
I can feel the little drops
Of crystallized, frozen
Still fragments of a much larger
Movement in the sky
Landing all upon me
As I lay in damp grass,
Too warm for snow to rest on
I too will melt here,
I too will fall from the sky,
and melt before I can be seen
I am a snowman in the sun
I am a rivulet of former beauty
Snaking its way down a sewer grate
This is all it is, this is all it will be
Snowfall, no landing.

Snowfall is about the futility of wishing you can remain, whether it is in a moment or as a person. I was staring out my window when it was snowing, but I knew it was too warm out for it to stick, and that was honestly really disappointing.
