The Day the Sky Fell

Dec 6 1941,The world across the Pacific was on fire,

But to America, the situation wasn’t dire.

7:00 AM, The radar sees planes drawing near,

But the warning brings on no fear.

7:48 AM, The general gives commands, the signal is sent,

The attack is to begin, with terrible intent.

7:55 AM, The fist bombs fly out of the sky,

People on the ships erupt with a cry.

8:10 AM, The USS Arizona is directly hit with a blow,

An explosion of fire is left, sinking down below.

8:50 AM, A second wave forms through the smoke,

The water all around, begins to look like coke.

9:45 AM, The assault comes to an end, the damage is done,

The fleet is no more, sinking beneath the sun.

2403 Dead, 1178 Wounded

The bloodbath had finally been concluded.

I am not afraid of my own becoming.

Nice poem! I like how you made it historical and very visual.
