The spacious ballroom was just the small room where we shared our twin bed
But the static words heard from the bedside radio were our orchestra instead
We danced with our bare feet exposed, the ragged carpet beneath
Between out toes
And the full moon that illuminated the whole room and fell upon the marble floor
Was just the slightly bright hallway light shining through a narrow bedroom door

The author's comments:
This was based on a dream I had about me and someone I cared about deeply, dancing in silence in a large tower high above the grounds. Upon waking up, I knew that while this dream could never possibly come true, the exhilarating, joyous, perfectly harmonized feeling it left me with was exactly how he used to make me feel every single day. We are no longer together romantically, but the dream made me realize how much I miss the dance- for nothing ever looked so beautiful in my eyes as the sight of every ordinary day, with him.
