An old fashioned whim
It may seem
But I sent you a message
In a bottle
Upon the sea

Insane I may be
I tied our love to a red balloon
And let it drift away
Beyond the stars
Jupiter and Mars

I’ve been waiting
Scanning the horizon
For a reply
But I suppose there are
no balloons
or bottles in outer space,
or on desert islands
