Hearts Collide
My dear,
I fear you and I
may be falling in love.
When I look at your eyes, your smile
my heart melts once more.
I remember us laughing together.
I remember you holding my hand,
and telling me you love me.
Some days you're all I think about.
Some days I wallow continuously in times past.
And almost every day, I regret
the day I left.
Your face is so close to mine.
I want to close my eyes
and kiss you, the familiar adrenaline when our hearts collide.
But you pull away
and I know we can't be,
at least for right now.
But baby, fate once brought us together.
And maybe
destiny will bond us forever,
I'll just hang in tight,
for this long, bumpy ride.
And sit here waiting for the moment
When again, our hearts collide.
