My Muse
I once called him my muse,
 My Fellow and Friend,
A man I could count on,
 To stand and defend.
 Always at my side,
 Waiting and watching.
 Keeping always,
 The shortest of distance.
 Forever I’ll love him,
 Forever I’ll stay,
 Standing by this promise,
 For every warm sunny day.
 For now he stands,
 In the shadows of night,
 Waiting and hoping,
 That I’ll be his light.
 As the moon dies,
 And the stars fail…
 I’ll shelter his heart,
 So cold and so frail.
 Forever I’ll love him,
 Forever I’ll stay,
 Standing by this promise,
 For every warm sunny day.
 I’ll sing to him softly,
 A song of sweet times,
 Relieving exhaustion,
 Watching him sleep…
 I pray for redemption.
 I’ll always hold him,
 So dear to me…
But I must let him go…
 Someday he’ll be free.
 But…
 Forever I’ll love him,
 Forever I’ll stay,
 Standing by this promise,
 For every warm sunny day.
