escape from fishing
Fish
With flicking quick spade tails
Stream by, wary
As the ground and the heat hum
My feet dance with the stream
While the rest of me lies stretched
On the tree that dips
Thrillingly close to its rippled reflection
Too at ease to play
With anything but light darting through
And glowing around my fingers
With the breeze teasing my skin and hair
That everything inhales

...was the motivation for this piece. I was just thinking about my family's idea of a pastime...trout fishing. Usually, I like to escape to a quiet fisherman free place whenever we go. I mean, fishing is fun and all, but I'd rather lie around and take everything in...or wreak havoc with a friend. You have no idea how fun trout clubs can be.
