City of Sounds
Roaring reverberates down the black tunnel
Screeches of a thousand owls accompanies it
The yells draw in-and stop
Blaring honks whizz past my befuddled form
and the careworn beggars seem ill and torn
Tongues of many dialects fly through the air
Rhythmic banging on the streets without a care
Yells of venders confuse it all
Though the loudest sound subdues it all
The strictest silence among strangers
It echos through every part of the atmosphere
And yet no one seems to hear it but the foreigner
