Chopsticks
Remember when it was just you and me
Nothing special, just the cold air
We sat on that park bench all night
Old Chicago ain’t got nothing wrong
Just a three day visit
I packed my suitcase and left the next day
I was just a little girl running away from whatever happened
The next city is always my new home
Something I can’t ever have
You taught me the beat, the code that I couldn’t figure out on my own
I ‘ll always remember it, my very own lullaby
Something to go to sleep at night, when all you are is a faint memory
That keeps on fading
So remember me now because in years you’ll forget
So will I
So now as we say goodbye remember the sound
Remember the tune
I will when I roam the empty streets at night, all alone, with no one to hold
I’ll stop moving
So goodbye and nice meeting you.
