Promises

If I asked you to promise me something
Would you keep it?
Or would you throw it back in my face?
I used to believe in promises,
‘Till they all became fake.
Never will I promise again
For that simple little fact
That once they’re made; they’re broken.
What’s the point of promising that?
All they do is hurt you,
they hurt you so much.
