The Symphony of the Storm
The audience is silent
No chatty birds a-chirping
The conductor sits waiting
‘Hoot Hoot’, to clear his throat
Now a ripple runs thru the forest
A murmur of excitement
Quiet again, for just a beat-
Now the show begins
Suddenly ears detect
Growing gravely grumbles
The thunder is off
To quiet a start
Now the drops are introduced
‘Plit-plat, plit-plat’
They add to the
Rising uproar
Soon they are transformed
‘Plitplatplitplatplitplatplit’
The noise, deafening
Its barrage makes quite a din
Then ‘CRACK’!
The lightening dances!
Glories in its moments
On the clouded stage!
The climax is fast approaching!
Oh! The Wind howls!
It too plays a part
In nature’s masterpiece!
The trees creak and moan!
Lovely accents to the music
And how their branches whisper!
A serenade, itself!
The beauty demands
Respect, amazement, awe!
Brought together-
Voices of the Storm!
But it must end!
Like all other beings
Even you, can hear
The speed slipping away
Now the trees have quieted
Their part played and done
Fading is the lightning
Its glow is growing faint
Here rain takes its bow
‘plit-plat’ has long since gone
The wind calms herself
And tries to lull the thunder
The thunder is dying
The last one on the stage
One last ‘BOOM’ ends the show
Only the stars, twinkle, and applaud
