Inde'pendant'
“Friends forever”, what you promised,
But bond broke when you snapped.
Your two halves made a heart,
 And stood for trust between
 “Should-have-been” sisters,
 Future bridesmaids, godmothers.
 You witnessed tear-drenched nights,
 Sleepovers lasting days.
 Things will be forgotten,
 Memories bound to fade,
But gold doesn’t break nor tarnish.
So why don’t cold parts fit,
 Why aren’t secrets shared?
You let me down, gave up.
Half a heart cannot fill a hole.
