The scorching hot Wednesday day has just begun
Sweat drops rolling down everyone’s head already
The only relief is a fan in one corner of the class room
Circling trying to keep people cool
Blowing unfinished homework assignments off the desks
The teacher is giving directions about class work
But no one can pay attention
It is such a hot day their mind is else where
Probably in a blizzard storm
Or in DQ.

The Scorching hot day has finally come to an end
The bells ring, 1-2-3
Releasing students to their lockers and homes
Sweaty kids run down the crowded hot halls
Talking about eating ice cream and Slushies
Making plans to stay in the air conditioner with other friends
The kids get on a bus filled with more body heat
40 other kids fanning themselves with folders
Filled with homework due tomorrow
Another hot day.
