Flame's Love
Light flickers.
Red.
Orange.
Yellow.
Smoke rises to the sky.
I breathe deep of its scent,
Letting it cloak me in its warmth.
The fire calls to me....
I reach out my hand and embrace its flame,
Laughing as it licks my hand.... my wrist.... my arm....
And still it calls....
I move closer to the flames,
Their heat melting my frozen heart.
I stand amongst them now,
Letting them climb my clothes.... taste my skin....
I cry aloud from the joy of it!
It calls me closer, ever closer....
I lie down amidst the coals and fiery embers,
Happy to be burning with them.
