One Thing
One think I always thought was beautiful was an open field filled with flowers
Their different colors blending into my eyes making them shine
 Until a snake
 Forked tongue
 Evil eyes
 Head of lies
comes slithering out of everything good and pure
You never know whats hiding beneath the surface

One thing I always thought was beautiful was a washing machine
Every week it would wash away my mistakes
 My spills
 And I started fresh
But then there was that one stain
That one memory that the soap of forgiveness could not erase
And I could not start fresh

One thing I always thought was beautiful was light switches
They have long lives and with a few muscle movements a world of darkness and rejection turns into a world of light and acceptance
But when they wires break and the electricity runs dry the light disappears
 or is replaced
Plunging you into the rejection once more with a few muscle movements

One thing I always thought was beautiful was you
your smile, your eyes, your hair, you simple sarcasm, the way you always seemed to be there.
 Past tense
 Then you changed
Moved away so fast I was surprised not to see fire coming out of your ankles

 And now I'm here
Finding hell in places hell is supposed to fear
One think I always thought was beautiful was hope
