Drowning
You pulled me out of the ocean.
 You dried me off
and wrapped a blanket around me.
 You saved me from myself.

 You wiped away my tears,
and threw them back into the water.
The dark sea that consumed me
 was no more.

 I could breathe
 I could see.
Without the water blinding my way.

You amazed me with your kindness
 your gentle touch.
 And your boat is strong
 like no others.
 It's safe, it's sturdy
we could sail our whole lives.

 And when the tides raise
 we could protect each other.

 You are my life jacket.
 So please,
 don't be gone long.

 Without you, I'm drowning.
