Fortitude
This torrid place,
Incessant burn—
Long for cessation.
Climbing a tor
To reach fortitude,
I am azygous—alone.
Who be sufficient
To cool my pain
Without demur?
Pedant, I am
End up suff’ring teen
And disparage myself.
Cessation not given,
Not taken;
Yet perseverance granted.
