My Heart
I thought my heart,
As broken as it once was,
Was beyond repair:
Like a dried up,
Crusted over,
Barely beating,
Unrecognizable organ.
But you,
With your incomparable smile,
And you brightly sparkling eyes,
Have slowly begun
To chip off
The hardened pieces
That used to
Immobilize me.
Now, this once dead heart,
Beats loudly for you.
Thank you
For helping me fix
My heart.
