If You Stopped a Moment
I am all that you might hear
If you stopped a moment, and let your heart listen
to the softly floating breeze on a crisp, clear night,
 singing its silent lullaby.
 Every star joins in chorus,
their jubilant voices straining across the sky.
 But you cannot hear.

I am all that you might see
if you stopped a moment, and let your heart look deeper
at the truth your soul defines.
As it is becoming unclear, your outline of direction fades to gray.
 Read the story between the lines;
the lies are bare, uncovered, and raw.
 But you cannot see.

I am all that you might feel
if you stopped a moment, and let your heart express
the emotion that courses through your veins
 in rivers of zealous passion.
Diverging into tributaries, but the rush is ever strengthening,
pouring from your eyes, pounding in your ears.
Furiously charging every wall you believed would protect you,
 How can you not feel?
