Friend and Ex-lover
You were my friend
 He was my lover
I know we were the past
But every time I heard your voice
Saw your smile I believed that you were still mine
That we were meant for one another
But friend and lover came out in the end
 I was shocked and upset
 Not knowing what to do
If you were my friend why would you want my ex-lover to?
The pain was sharp it hurt like no other
But the tears subsided and my vision cleared
 He was never it
We were never meant to be
He and I were no more a couple than a fly and a bee
Don’t get me wrong this union brings me no joy
But my friend and ex-lover gave me something more
 The closer I needed
 The want to move forward
To get past the past I cannot change
And move to the future I deserve
Even if it contains one lost friend and another ex-lover
