Wonder
Can I tell you something?
Once there was a girl.
She had a life
It was kind of crazy
And she kept secrets-
Collected them-
Hoarded them in her pink room-
And messy locker-
And big gray eyes-
And she was stretched-
Beyond belief-
Beyond recognition-
Tightened tensions-
Like too many little dashes stretched to contain an author’s hand-
Until she was so full that she could not contain them anymore-
And she screamed
It felt wonderful
Beautiful
As she let everything out
And didn’t care who heard her
And screamed, and screamed
And a smile stretched across her face as she gladly met the eyes of all who watched
And somewhere people heard a song
And somewhere people heard a poem-
And the whole world watched
In wonder…
