The world is just vinalla ice cream without the sprinkles that are creative people.

You didn’t have to have me
No one you knew would of blamed you
I could of killed you
No one would of blamed you
You had a five year old to take care of
You were no good to him dead
You did not have to keep me
But you did
You did keep me
And call it God’s grace or a mother’s strength
But I did not kill you
The odds were that I would
But you still brought me into the world
And you did not stop there
You did not have to keep me
But you have always cared for me
From your womb to this day
You did not have to keep me
And I have to admit I am not always grateful
But I should be
Because you were willing to give your life for me
You did not have to keep me
But I’m glad you did
You kept me because you loved me
And I love you too

I wrote this peice to my mother whom I love very much. She was in her mid-forties when she gave birth to me more than 17 yeaars ago and she had more than one health factor that might result in her dying in labor with me. I can not say that I would of been as brave as she was and I will always respect her for making the choice to have me. The reason I used repation of lines so much in the poem is to stress what an amazing thing my mother did for me.
