Afghan Girl
The years have made her stronger
Through every challenge she grows more capable
In her fear she sacrifices herself
But she never gives up hope
Her eyes an emerald green
They observe with great power
They show the struggles she’s been through
And the hardships she’s faced
Her stern lips create a timeline
Her past has scarred her trust
The evil around creates exposure
From a time of lost innocence
Her beauty is a curse
For it brings on future pain
Those around her are a threat
But she is tenacious and doesn’t give up
