A Knife
A knife scraping inside of me
Hidden well so you can not see
This pain was never self inflicted
Every speck of hope evicted
You pulled the wool over my eyes
In order to hide all your lies
I only wish that I had known
That all my freedom had just flown
The second I replied to you
But it was exciting, something new
It had to be the words you said
That got you locked up in my head
I live for every promise made
Still waiting for fulfilment laid
It will get better so you say
Yet, soon continue your abrade
Though now as I admit the truth
I will always love you for you.

Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers, but to be fearless in facing them. Let me not pray for the stilling of my pain, but for the heart to conquer it.<br /> ~ Tagore
