Notes fall together setting perfect mood
harmonizing and strong in crescendo
Notes take glory but what is left for rests?
Always with bronze, never silver or gold
Would they not be the most necessary?
Allowing all the sensation of air
Relieving lungs from constant melody
or making a staccato aroma
Yet notes fight through the trenches of the staff
Rests battle on in this long lived rivalry

The author's comments:
For those who are not familiar with music terms: the rests come between the notes and allow the singer a quick break. I thought they deserved some recognition since they never seem to get any.
