A feeling cradled in the hands,
held so close and dear.
It makes its home deep inside the soul,
protected by so little.
Shared between two pairs of hands,
connecting soul to soul.

Unaware.
Dark sharp claws grasp this feeling,
the hands not willing to let go,
a chunk is ripped away.
The piece that’s left,
held so close and dear,
may one day
be whole
again.
