Forgotten Earth
We followed her song
 Into the painted grey sea
 Under the black rock houses
 Controlled by desire,
 A desire to control.

We listen without hearing the truth in her words,
 The song she plays endlessly
 Waiting for us to dance.

 In our deep holes
 We go farther,
 Retreating from her voice,
 From the purity it provides
 The shelter it can give.

 Buried low,
 Her song is gone,
 Entirely muffled
 By our black rock houses
Built under a painted grey sea.

 Listening is too painful
 So we cower,
 Waiting for her
 To come to us
 And sing.
