Barefoot in the Frost
February 5, 2012
Saturday morning
the first frost
came.
I ran outside
with my sister.
I stood
barefoot
on the edge
between
grass
and cement.
I rolled up
my pajamas
and laughingly
freezingly
ran into the frost.
I smiled
grimaced
and ran
quickly inside.
“Never run
barefoot in
the frost”
said my sister
to no one
in particular.
I smiled
to myself.
I said,
“Always run
barefoot in
the frost.”
