A Composition for Love: An Ode to Lily's Subway
Deep within a dark tunnel they stray,
Charging full force into the abyss
She stares into her mirror
Such a simple action but no one knows
What's in return
Reflections running wild, both internal and ex
As the red cream glides over the soft tissue
Warmth is felt throughout her soul
She is making herself presentable
Ready for a world no one knows
So many people travel day by day
All as one but everyone is left a stray
People always seem to be on a search
Left to question exactly what will free it
Free the thought of finding that something
For now she will sit
Each day in a ritual
Left alone to apply what she desires
The little time to reflect on what she has
The time she takes to even her odds, as they admire
