Split
In the abyss of getting lost,
 my island was the oasis
 of sanity,
only to be proven a mirage.

 Peace is the pearl,
 an endangered emotion these days,
 it's a tragedy people
 are like empty oysters,
 and instead of clinging,
 coagulating into barnacles
 for support,
 they let those internal waves
 of anger harbor
 until they tsunami.

 That is where it starts,
 that rage between
 internal versus external,
 holding in versus holding on,
 splitting
 up the world.
