"We all fear death and question our place in the universe. The artist's job is not to subcome to dispair, but to find an antidote for the emptiness of existance." -Gertrude Stein in the movie Midnight In Paris.

A typewriter
Nobody understands
Too many distractions
Blinking lights
Beeping sounds
The knowledge that with a click you can change everything
Having the options of doing other things
It’s too complicated
Why not just type?
Don’t like it? Change the paper
Start a new one
Save it for some other time
No electricity
Type in the dark with the light of a candle
Concentrate in what you are doing
So much you barely make mistakes
But still let the writing come
Express only what you want
Save it in a place where nobody can find it, if you wish
Hear the tap tap tapping of the keys.

"I learned that you should feel when writing, not like Lord Byron on a mountain top, but like a child stringing beads in kindergarten - happy, absorbed and quietly putting one bead on after another." Brenda Ueland

I have always had an obsession with typewriters- so already I love your poem.

Nothing was forced and I liked that part about it. Too many times I read a poem like this and it feels fake but your words were, are perfect. I can't help but say again- I love your poem!

Bravo! Keep up the good work:)
