The Old Clock Chimes
His eyes are filled with tears,
Held in for far too many years.
He looks at the clock, his pupils shrink.
He sees the gun, takes one more drink.
From the world he conceals his arm,
Permanent memories of self harm.
Only God knows what he's done.
He presses his temple to the gun.
Must he pay for his father's crimes,
He pulls the trigger, the old clock chimes.
