Your name, along with others,
Is etched on my heart.
The names of those
That could have been,
That I hope for,
That will never be.
Some names I breathe upon candle flames
And watch as the light flickers and dies.
Others I whisper to dancing shadows
In a vain attempt to send my love.
But your name I angrily scream to an empty sky
Because you led me on,
And then you left me.
