A Glance Away
I look at you.
You look at me.
Eyes of blue,
Is what I see.
Deep in thought,
But good at hiding.
We are changed,
Two worlds colliding.
You look at me,
I look away.
I have changed
Too much today.
A memory grows,
A heart is swelling.
Only Lord knows
What this is telling.
I look at you
Another day.
Still eyes of blue,
But memories fade.
I am strange.
I cannot feel.
This is something
Far too real.
I look and look,
But none to see.
Have you forgotten
All about me?
You wish and wish,
Silent tears, you cry.
Hope is lost,
But again you try.
This time I look back,
And we stare for hours,
Locked in the embrace
Of True Love's powers.
So when you look,
You will find
A part of your heart
Etched into your mind.
