Be My Rock In This Storm

I tell you these things
that really bother me,
not so you can fix them
but so I’m not holding them inside.
I trust you enough
to tell you all of my deep, dark secrets.
I’m closer to you that I have ever been
with anybody in my life.
I’m not asking for you
to magically make things better.
I’m just asking for you
to lend me your shoulder to cry on.
Be my rock in this storm
and help me through it.
I’m not asking for you to fix this.
