You Can't Cheat Love
Love is a fragile thing,
Hard to come by nowadays.
We take it for granted.
We over say it and underuse it.
We accuse and abuse it.
It’s the same sad story every time.
But one of these days,
And it will come sooner than you think,
You’ll begin to realize,
That love really is a fragile thing,
That it’s hard to come by nowadays,
That you took it for granted,
That you over said it and underused it,
That you accused and abused it,
That it’s the same sad story every time.
You’ll realize now,
That you can’t have your cake and eat it too,
That you stopped loving me,
So I stopped loving you.
Now it’s a little too late,
And this chapter is ending.
So tell me darling,
What are you going to do now that love has finally run out on you?
Now that even love knows, you’re bad news?
Now that love won’t even love you.
