Friends
I have friends.
I know I do.
I see them everyday.
They walk by my side
through the halls
and wave at me all day.
I sit with them at lunch
where we all laugh and joke
about all the things
we won't care about
as soon as we go home.
Home is where the heart is.
But mine is ripped in two.
Because whenever I go home
there is nobody to
stand by my side
or send a smile my way.
Nobody to make me laugh
or brighten up my day.
So I sit in my room
in my own company
with only pen and paper
to fill the space they leave.
