Stranger
When a stranger comes to town
 They become quiet
Sticking their heads out of their doors and instantly judging

When a stranger comes to town
They make up stories of his life
Waiting till he leaves to gossip their hearts out
They’ll have this to entertain themselves for months

When a stranger comes to town
They’re reminding that people are different from them
That their words aren’t the world’s gospel
Turning their noses down at him when he opens his mouth

When a stranger comes to town
I always hope that he’ll take me away with him
That I’ll leave this little town and see the beyond
That I’ll leave the prejudice behind

 But I’m always Stuck here
 As the stranger leaves town
