Toxic Adrenaline
Do you know what I crave
A heart in a car on a road
 Nothing more
The smell of sulfur rich and thick in the air
 Like leather gone uncured
Black dirt on the soles of his boots
 Propped up on the dashboard
 Because now
 I am driving
He plants kisses in my cherry hair
Infuses my neck with gold and silver
Tucks crystal in between my veins
 In the sky above
 Vultures ride thermals
 Waiting
Like sticky porcelain children riding a carousel
 For the next turn
 I see it up ahead
 A road sign like a predator’s skull
And he sinks the fangs in again
And the children get off the carousel.
