The Girl From Far Away
Lurking in the hallway
Waiting for that glimpse of you
I wonder if you notice me
If you really, truly notice me
Or just simply see me.
I am at one end and you
Are at the other
I am the girl from far away
That wishes to be up close
As the people who don’t mean a thing
Keep me from what means everything--
I don’t have the courage.
I pray to someone I doubt is real
Yet hear I am forcing myself to feel
These feelings that destroy me
As I see you across the hall
I doubt if you see me,
the girl from far away.
I doubt if you see me one bit
At all.
